I remember being young and free. That feeling of being a kid who doesn’t have a care in the world. In my opinion, that’s when we’re our true selves; without having the stresses and responsibilities that come along in life. As a child running barefoot in the park and feeling the earth between your toes is what grounding is all about. I just had no idea that as an adult I would be chasing that feeling over and over. It really is about the simple things in life that bring us peace and joy.
On a warm sunny afternoon, I was with my girlfriend, and we are walking to this trail in Oceanside. It was my first time ever seeing this park and trail before. I immediately noticed a large tree that had a big branch that stuck out horizontally from its side. It was really thick and had plenty of carvings on it with people’s initials. I jumped up on the park table that was under it and decided to climb it. It was like I had unlocked an old memory from long ago. It was feeling I couldn’t shake and couldn’t forget because it brought me back to my childhood. It felt so natural.
